Why Select a UV Pond Sterilizer for Your Water?
Certain kinds of bacteria will cause your fish health problems such as Aeromonas, Pseudomonas, or other gram-negative or gram-positive bacteria, but good types of bacteria are necessary to ensure the healthy life cycle of your pond.
Using a UV algae killer (UV sterilizer) for long periods of time can severely disrupt the natural ecosystem of your pond and could potentially create high levels of gram-negative bacteria, that gets worse when the UV pond filter is shut down. We recommend a biological cycle, but certain ponds may be better fit to use solutions like UV sterilizers that create clear water in a more sterile environment, which can be less ideal for koi ponds.
